NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL THE WAY YOU DO NOT
WANT TO FEEL
Other
people can make us “feel bad” but only if we let them. We retain control over
our feelings, thoughts, and emotions. They are ours. If we feel a certain way,
“sad,” “happy”, “angry”, it is because we choose to feel that way. People may
do things all the time that affect us, how we react to those things or “feel”
about them is up to us. We can experience whatever feelings bubble up to the
surface, then let them go or re-channel those feelings into something
productive. Put a different label on them. Soak them in. Savor it. Feel them.
Then let it let it go. We control how we feel, so why make ourselves feel
miserable, angry, upset or any way we really do not want to feel inside? We can
feel certain emotions because of our own actions, regret, guilt, remorse,
pride, joy, satisfaction. We can share those feelings with others. No one else
has the right or the power to make us feel anything we do not want to feel.
That is our power.
