SOMETIMES YOU LEAD SOMETIMES YOU FOLLOW

“Life is a matter of choices, and every

choice you make makes you.”

                        John C. Maxwell

Prepare yes. Train yes. Practice, of course. But there is also magic in

just getting started. We will never be 100% ready. There may never

be a perfect time to get started. Just get started. Just go. There will be

times when we lead the charge. There will be times when we follow

the leader or mentor as we continue to learn. On a particular journey,

maybe someone has been there before having more experience and

can help show us the way. Other times we need to put others on our

back and lead the way. Other times we just need to grind it out solo.

This is often where the real work gets done. Put our heads down and

do the work. Remain steadfast. Magical things will happen. We find

our flow. Our ying and yang. We may just learn more as we go, or we

find what we need or get “help” along the way.

Jaime Jackson Safety Blog: YOU CANNOT CHEAT THE PERSON IN THE MIRROR

Jaime Jackson Safety Blog: YOU CANNOT CHEAT THE PERSON IN THE MIRROR:   “You can’t cheat the grind, it knows how much you’ve invested, it won’t give you nothing you haven’t worked for.”                         ...

YOU CANNOT CHEAT THE PERSON IN THE MIRROR

“You can’t cheat the grind, it knows how much you’ve
invested, it won’t give you nothing you haven’t worked for.”
                        Eric Thomas

No matter how hard it might be, the pain of regret after not doing it is
much harder. You will always know. Nobody else knows, you know
what you must do, you know what is right. You know how you got there.
At the end of the day, you will always have to look in the mirror and you
better like what you must look at. The most painful of all emotions are
guilt and regret. On the other hand, there is really nothing better than
knowing you did it. You did your best. You did your job. You practice,
you trained, you did not cheat time or hard work. You did it. You did
it well. It does not matter what the task at hand is, everything counts.
Even if you are scooping dog poop in the yard, do your best. The best
results come to those who earned it. Look in the mirror, stand tall and
be proud. It is the only way. You cannot cheat the person in the mirror.
You cannot cheat the grind.
