The AP (6/30) reports that Ford has announced
plans to fix sticky throttles on approximately 468,000 Ford Taurus and Mercury
Sable vehicles. The AP notes that the NHTSA began investigation vehicles model
year 2000-2003 vehicles after receiving 100 complaints regarding the throttles
which Ford says can be damaged or disconnected during maintenance. Ford reports
the five crashes have been reported but none have resulted in injuries. NHTSA
has closed its investigation.
