NHTSA investigates Jeep
Liberty for fire risk.
In
continuing coverage, the Los Angeles Times (10/30, Undercoffler, 3.07M)
reports that NHTSA has opened a preliminary investigation into complaints of
fires in the driver’s door of 2012 Jeep Liberty SUVs. NHTSA says it has
received two reports from consumers, with one person injured. NHTSA also notes
that one of the vehicles caught fire a second time after it was repaired.
