Cadillac recalling 2012 to 2014 XTS sedans for engine fire risk. The AutoWeek (3/22, Ramey, 868K) reports online
that Cadillac has also put out a recall for 63,900 XTS sedans built from 2012
to 2014 “over an issue with the brake booster pump.” According to the report,
the issue with the pump “could lead to overheating and melting of plastic
components, and may cause a fire in the engine compartment.” The report notes
in its conclusion that GM “is not taking any chances following several recent
high profile recalls.”
